Mexcelencia was Criatura's first institutional solo moment: twelve paintings hung inside the Mexican Embassy in London, anchored by a hand-painted VW Beetle taxi parked in the embassy forecourt.
The works reimagine Mexican icons — Frida, Zapata, Villa, the sugar skull, the eagle, the Angel of Independence — through the language of Tenta, refusing museum stiffness in favor of playful reverence.
The show opened in May 2024 with a ceremony hosted by the Ambassador.
